Just came out fresh after hearing the songs of Sivaji – The Boss.
Thankfully, A.R.Rahman hasn’t made the same mistake as he did in disastrous Baba. SPB has sung the fast paced intro song ‘Balleilakka’, whatever that means. I am sure that this song is going to send the audience to raptures when it gets screened. ‘Sahana Saral’ and ‘Sahara Saral’ (pathos) are soothing to the ears. ‘Vaaji Vaaji Sivaji’ is kinda ok with nothing great about it. The interesting one among the lot is ‘Athiradee’ sung by ARR himself. The lyrics have got the film names of Rajini’s old movies like ‘Billa Ranga Basha daan…’.
On a first pass, the songs have come out very well. It has very much set up the expectations about the movie. Atleast in me.

Too much hype for a movie, which is destined to be a flop

Dandanakka – Didn’t you say the same for Chandramukhi as well?
April 5th, 2007 at 7:50 am
Like our ’senior’ cricketers, our thalaivar also getting comments like, ‘he should have retired with Chandramukhi, not sure why he didn’t…’

Nope. I said that Baba (Remember that movie?!)

Seems interesting. Let us wait and see.

Sriram - Its always good to retire when you are doing good, before ppl start to question your continuance..
Dandanakka - Think you would say that for every Rajini movie.. once in 15 yrs a Baba disaster would happen and you will have the satisfaction of hitting the bull’s eye once in a while at least..
Balaji - yep.. it promises to be!

I think I differ here. A couple days ago, I happen to hear this ’sunlight moonlight’ song & I could not help but wonder how more horrible could a song get!!! Is it not a part of the same movie?

Meera – i didn’t like the sunlight moonlight bit… forgot which part of the song they were part of.

Oru koodai sunlight, Oru koodai moonlight!! uvak.
All other songs seem youthful, but I cannot digest the fact it is all filmed on a 57 yr old man

Ballelakka Ballelakka will be creating sensations and i think that’s the title song…i couldnt wait to watch the movie in the theatre and whistle when Thalaivar comes into the scene…and SPB is great

Meera - not liking the song is onething… not liking for whom the song was composed/written is another…
I don’t like Ramarajan, but I would still hear songs from Karagattakaaran.
Whether one could digest a 57 yr old man could sing duet with a 20 yr old is something that is a different topic and definitely not something new.
Arul - karthik has answered your qn.
Karthik - Thanks.

The songs are average not the best but also not the worst. I wish they had something similar to Muthu, oh well.
Oru Kodi SUNLIGHT on Rajani guess we are becoming like Kannada (old guys just stick around beyond their time) while telugu and malayalam are passing us by
