One of the things I hate about the movie ‘Sivaji’ is the fight with Kanal Kannan & co. in the musical instruments shop. I am least bothered about the logic of the fight or story or anything related to that, the thing that bothered me was the location of the fight. Shankar could have chosen so many places to film this fight, but unfortunately his creativity landed him here. Smashing guitars, veenas and other instruments was hardly enjoyable. For people associated with music, this would be a scene that they might like to forget. But for the jaw dropped fans, they were in awe as ‘thalaivar’ was smashing up some 30+ bad guys.

Hey athu nama thalaivar special. Athu ille na padam epd Rajini padam agum.

Chakra its interesting how each Rajni fan got something different to say about the movie for me it was neither shankar nor a rajni’s movie.
Saving grace of this almost disaster one is Rajni himself, but for him I wouldnt have paid such a high priced ticket. 2nd half is the saving grace..
Anyway ppl are mad at me for writing about Sivaji more than me it is Srivatsan who is facing Rajni fans heat.

I feel this way whenever there is a fight scene. Why should furniture be broken, cars dented, uphostery and screens torn whenever there is a fight scene. This time it went to the extent of damaging musical instruments – things we equate to Godess saraswathi

Sam,
I always hate an over-hyped(relative term) movie. But I did read your reviews & considering the fact that my hubby is an ardent Rajni fan, I think I will end up watching this movie. At least, now I know, what to expect. Rajni-a software engineer, is still beyond my wildest dreams, though!

The interesting thing is that most furniture will not break in the fashion that is shown in our movies. Those are special items designed with extra loose screws, joints and diluted fevicol
Real furniture will actually break bones before it breaks.

Krish’s comments reminded me of a karate show some time ago, where my colleague was demonstrating his skills in breaking pots in one go. In the back stage, he was ‘preparing’ the pot by initiating some cracks. for my question, he replied, ‘thats the way most of the shows would be’
